LUCAS WONG
Lucas was born in GuangDong, China in 1948. At the age of one, his family moved to Macau, where his artistic abilites started to truely develope.
When he was studying in high school in Hong Kong, he taught himself to oil paint. His poaintings were displayed in galleries in Tsim Sha Tsui
and sold to tourists from all over the world.
After graduating HK Polytech College in Graphic Design, he worked in the art department of HKTVB. Since then Lucas has been a
professional artist exhibiting his artwork in the US and abroad. He immigrated to the US in 1978 and worked for World Wide International
Art in San Francisco.
Most of Lucas's work consists of oils and pastels until after he met Professor Hau Pei-Jen in 1992. Professor Hau's unique style of"splash color" triggered Lucas's passion for oriental brush painting and inspired him to develope a style of his own. Fusing western
oil painting techniques and his oriental watercolors, Lucas continues to push his style. His artwork has been featured in prestigious art galleries in Las Vegas and New York.
